The email offers part-time, ‘well-paying’, work-from-home jobs that involve international money transfers. Some versions even claim to have seen ‘your resume’.

SCAMwatch the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) scam alert service said 'employees' will have their savings stolen when they disclose their banking details or lose out by transferring money.

As a warning, the emails look legitimate and even including RAC's Australian business number (ABN). However, these emails are just the latest example of scammers using a genuine organisation's good name to try to entice people into a money transfer scam.

“These are classic cover stories for money transfer scams. Consumers who take up these offers will be scammed,” according to SCAMwatch advisory.

The RAC has received many calls from people who have received the email, according to an advisory on company’s site.

“These emails are a scam which come from an unknown source and can be identified through the email address recruiter@rac-careers.com, most likely with the name "David Anderson" in front, warned RAC.
