MailMarshal e10000 is a single function device that delivers mail transfer protocol software on an appliance platform, the company said.

The product is claimed to secure inbound and outbound emails, as well as inspect the content of messages to protect against online threats.

These include spam, phishing scams, viruses, spyware, denial-of-service attacks, regulatory non-compliance and the theft of intellectual property, according to Marshal.

Existing customers can mix and match with their current software based MailMarshal installations, said Bradley Anstis, director of product management at Marshal.

“MailMarshal e10000 demonstrates our commitment to delivering on our multi-platform strategy, which will also include a Web security appliance.

"The appliance platform leverages Marshal’s ten-year heritage of providing industry-proven software security products to the enterprise, while delivering this technology in a form factor to suit every size of business.”

Users can regularly update the software in the appliance to tackle emerging threats, the security vendor said.

Details on availability and pricing were unavailable at the time of going to press.
